So far so good the clutch side went on easy, however the replacment banjo bolt will not go in to the housing fully, it's in about two full turns and it's tight, and wont budge, i've check the original and it goes in fine, this had some slight nicks on the thread which i've straightened out now, but it's still not moving ... any idea's ?

It's only gone in 2 full turns? Sounds cross-threaded -especially if there's damage to the threads of the original bolt. Can you pull the MC off and inspect the threads? Might need to chase them with a tap.
Alternatey - might be possible you got sent a bolt with the wrong thread pitch - compare against the original. Last edited by CheGuevara; 01-05-09 at 06:21 PM. |

Yep, sounds exactly like wrong thread.

Balls !, well there's no damage to it, but i guess we can only assume it's the wrong sensor, now comes the fun part, where do i find a new one, over here ...i shall return...
On a side note, freezing it ? that would hardly shrink it in any way and allow it to screw in ? |

Hold the 2 banjo bolts together and see if the threads line up. If not fire off an email to Barry at GB Moto. He seems to be a pretty good guy and I'm sure he'l sort you out in a hurry. In the meantime you *could* just use your original banjo bolt -just keep in mind you have no brake light off of the rear brake.

Stuck the old one back on and mail barry there just to see what he says, i'll throw up a pic in a few, seems i have a clearance issue with the bottom fairings also on the brake lever side, might just have to move the fairings down, also need to bleed those brakes ...

Depending on how much interference you have with the fairing (I don't have lowers or a belly pan on mine) you might be able to get away with adding an extra washer or 2 between the lever and the rearset plate -but that might also mean you have to adjust the mounting of the master cylinder (file a few mm off the mating side of the mount tabs) to shift it outboard as well.
