![]() ![]() guess it's like anything if you get hooked, easy to blow wad's and from the outside looking in, not have a lot to show for it. But the smile it puts on your face when you get to play with your toys is priceless. |

In the great cars vs. bikes comparison I found it all comes down to perception of performance and also driver involvement. I have owned a couple of quick-ish cars (Pug 205 1.9, MR2, 3 litre Z4) and driven some pukka supercars (F355, Griffith), but there was always a slight sense of detachment in that I was tucked up in a comfy chair behind a windscreen and there was a clear division between the world outside and me prodding a pedal. The SV is the only bike I've owned, but it feels much more of an involving experience to make it go fast, especially round corners, which is what makes it bloody good fun.
Oh, and it can out-drag a Ferrari 328. OK, it was driven by an old giffer out for a Sunday bimble, but he was trying! |

I'm off to play with my toy.... doh I've sold it!
Cars and bikes are good fun, my 280bhp twin turbo legacy "felt" stronger above 90 mph than the SV, but I never got to test it against the bike head to head. And 4 wd on any road with a touch of gravel/cow ****/mud will always beat a bike, but with the scooby up for sale I'm most looking forward to getting a bike again, and endless Nurburgring laps.... |

But I now have to put up with no evening ride outs as the near by land is flat and the roads boring
![]() ![]() I'll just have to amuse myself with tall slim blonde dutch ladies, imported belgian beers and the odd trip to the coffee shop ![]() Edit & PS: my old SV has acheived the heady heights of 124 mph with pillion (approx 134ish indicated) I've been lead to believe. for the 24-26k (8-10k for a decent rx7) you spent on the car, you could get a garage full of bikes that could out run it |

I've bounced the SV off the limiter in top before (139mph) but that was downhill tight in behind a faster bike. In the real world probably 125-135 flat out. Druid [1] I think it was 1.7 at least, the 1.4 tops out on an unrestricted autobahn at a gps indicated 118 (130ish on the clock).
