The story ran on the local news.

What winds me up is that the emphasis is always on the headline top speed, in a 'speeding motorcyclists are evil' kind of way.

Doing 140mph on its own isn't dangerous. His disrespect for safety, the law and other road users is.

Dont think he can argue about doing time.

How did they stop / catch him in the end?

Drag is proportional to the square of your speed. At 140mph you're using about four times as much fuel as at 70mph. So, even with a full tank he's not going to last much more than 30 minutes.

Then a hairy hand lands on his shoulder and announces 'You're nicked, pond life'.

Can somebody remind us what our own GYKD got for running. I am sure he did not get any jail time, just a long ban. As Ed said inconsistency. Maybe if the jailed the no insurance scroats for a month as standard then with the other offences it would be justified.

Wasn't a constant 140mph blast though, once he came off the A38.

I watched the video and saw when they got him.

Makes you wonder why he didn't run when he ran out of fuel / stopped. Spose he would rather go down than lose the track bike that he paid £2k for.

Its a harsh thing to say, but it would have done the world a favour if he had taken himself out with a tree.

Perhaps a little too harsh. He may even learn his lesson after a 10 month sentence.
I dont think being a low life and speeding is deserving of death.
