Well done Ed. I have to agree with Stingo.....I'd have probably had someone with me BUT........very well done. Sounds like he's maybe realising that this is a country in which you cannot act in certain ways without feeling the long arm of the law.

Good on you and serves him right....I'm sure he did have a sleepless night and I wonder what/if he's going to tell his wife!

Sweet. You must have been in agony trying not to crack into a stream of laughter as you watched the blood run from his face.

OI, you leave us Scottish tartan coloured people alone, without the money you raise from our off-shore oil half the council estates in England wouldn't have 60 inch flat screen plasma TV's upon which to watch the JEREMY KYLE show, nor LAMBRINI to sip & enjoy while watching it.

Seriously, nice one Ed.

At least your staff member knows she has supportive bosses.

Just as an aside, you should contact my colleagues who cover your area, even if just to inform them for intel purposes. By that I mean for 2 reasons: -

1. He may well already be known, having done something similar before. If so then it's imperative that his latest antics are recorded (he could already be on "THE" register).

2. He may never have done something like this before, but who is to say he won't do it again.

From a public protection point of view it's important that people like this guy are reported. I've probably prompted certain peeps on here to respond with "big brother/Police state" responses, all I will say to that is Huntly & Soham etc.

I'm not scaremongering, just trying to point out the horrible down side to todays modern society. How would you or your colleague feel if you later found out that this creep had started doing this to someone else and God (or Allah, Buddah, Jehovah etc) forbid it got to a more serious point than the one you described at the begining of the thread.......................

My suggestion would be to call the local cop shop and arrange for your local beat bobby to call in for a cuppa & chat (or even the local PCSO).

Has a copy of the injunction been delivered to the Police station?. We have a system where copies of injunctions for the local town are held at the station and all within the force area are also held at Police HQ. That way there is always instant access to a copy should an incident occur out of normal office hours. Not all injunctions carry the power of arrest and a copy needs to be seen and powers confirmed before a cop could arrest (I know this from experience before copies were kept at the station).

Ed, you are the man!

It's great that you care enough to do this for your colleague. As others have said, you probably should have taken 'back up'. Let's hope that this stops him from harrassing your collegue or anyone else.

Well done mate.

Normally I'd get a process server to do it but as I was going to be out today (I'm in Liverpool) and as it was late by the time the Court had the sealed Order ready for collection (with the application papers you have to include a draft of the order you want, and at the hearing the District Judge amends it in manuscript if s/he doesn't like what you've asked for, and then you give the amended order to the Court office for them to type up and plonk the seal on - takes a bit of time) there wasn't time to arrange a server. So I decided to do it myself as until someone has been served, you can't complain if they do things in breach

I parked up as close to the front door of the block of flats as I could. I knew he was in cos his car - the one he had given details of in one of his letters - was in the parking area. Went into the communal hall, it's a ground floor flat. Smell of cooking. No spyglass in the door - good. Rang bell. After 30 seconds, sound of a door chain and a bolt being pulled. Man pokes his head round the door.

Me - 'Mr XXXXXXX?' (I'd met him once before so I knew it was him, although he has shaved his head since)

He - 'yes'

Me - Passed the package with the court papers in it to him - if someone passes something to you it's instinctive to open your hand - and he took the envelope. 'I am serving an injunction of the Shrewsbury County Court on you.' I so wanted to say 'bloody well back off and and stop writing f*cking offensive claptrap' but that wouldn't have been professional

He - white as a sheet, jaw dropped, eyes like saucers, I could see the package shaking in his hand - he didn't say anything. He stood there, staring at the envelope in his hand. The penny dropped. Face was a picture. Wish I could have photo'd it.

I walked out, hopped in the car and drove off before he could run after me with a carving knife.

I hope he had a sleepless night. We don't go back to court until mid July - he will have to explain his conduct at the hearing - so there's plenty of time for the ahole to reflect and worry about the damages claim I included also
Brilliant, would have loved to have seen his face, I can only imagine!
