why did u just say no thnaks dnt want the update it takes no more then 10 mins to download and install to ur iphone plus its free just plug ur ipod into itunes and itunes will do it :P

sorted, phoned Apple support and they refunded the cost of the update.
they gave me some bull about the fact that the iPods they are shipping wont have the software when delivered for another few months but refunded me immeadiately. I wonder home many people dont bother calling. |

That's not Apple's fault. They're actually forced to charge for those updates by US accounting law.

I can understand Apple wanting to charge for new functionality but in that case they should make patches available for free. I dont think its acceptable to have to make a choice between paying for new updates or running an unpatched internet device with security flaws. I'm not an Apple fan or even an Apple skeptic, I decide my position based on a specific product or service. Personally I think the iPod touch is a really nice device and worth the money in my opinion, obviously I wouldnt have bought one otherwise. I also use an iPod shuffle for my running and that has been great too. Paying for minor updates though, thats just a con. |

Gotta love the updates, I haven't done mine since Feb 2008 when it wiped all my fecking music.
Got my iTouch free when they come out, reliable and useful. |
