BTW, I hate countdowns, cause the cage in front always seems to think that the 300yd marker is the 30 limit sign, cue heavy braking etc.

Just a thought, Hovis, but if there'd been countdown limits of 50, 40, 30 you would have got a full house! ( assuming it's the now infamous Llanberis speed limit scam )
Hope there's no brown envelope 4U

well it just goes to show that a camera doing people for speedin makes you aware of the speed limits, its made u notice the signs and i bet you didnt speed once( well not as excesively) just a shame it takes something bad to happen to them for it to sink in as opposed to hearing other peoples dilemmas

It's a valid point about the signs Hovis, was the area subject to street lighting? If not there is a requirement for appropriate speed limit signs and if they are overgrown people have been known to argue the case. Personally in my experience the camera partnerships are fairly clued up to these things and generally don't go somewhere they can't enforce. It's usually the local bobby responding to local complaints that gets caught out. As for countdown markers, well Mrs. Smith from No.3 doesn't send someone up the road to warn you she is pulling off her drive......it's up to you to ride/drive at a speed that allows you to react to such things.

It's not common down south and tbh I don't think there's one example on the IOW, not even a warning that there's a slower limit approaching...
