Eh? What's with the Ducati comparison? Ducati just keep churning out V-twins - the only time they've released a V4 it cost the thick end of 40 grand so hardly relevant.

Nope, that isn't easy and I'm not expecting the RSV4 to be either.

Aye and I fancied a bike that could do 20K miles with just oil changes and the odd set of plugs. Who in their right mind would want a Ducati for mile munching? he he

Indeed. But then wait till the standard one. It will be much closer to £11-12K and probably still be higher spec'd than the equipment on the R1...
