Ach, I speak in jest - it's about a 5-6 hour ride down there (I did it in May for my mate's stag do), but thanks for the offer! I might come back to you in the future though, if he doesn't mind ordering the plugs in for me at trade price?

Cheers!

Get down to a honda dealer and ride a new one to see if its the 'kind' of bike you will get on with. Riding position is a bit more focussed than the sv and if you do any amount of town riding then this could be an issue. It always makes me chuckle with posts like 'I have had an sv for 5 monutes, should i buy a blade' At the end of the day, only you know what you and your ridng are like. As fizz says, its a totaly different riding experience. If you want it, buy it, simples Oh and enjoy, and dont kill yourself please

Sorry but that statement is quite untrue. You ridden one?

Not track focused at all I thought. Comfy ride and power when you want it in any gear. More like a sports tourer that is also the best thousand road bike and will gladly eat many other litre bikes for breakfast. An easy bike to ride quickly, unlike the new R1, ZX10RR which are very focused machines.

I didn't like how small the new Blades are, I'm convinced they're cracking bikes but they're TINY!!!

Any point? No, the SV is already plenty fast enough to get you banned many time over.

Personally if you're not going to use it I don't see the point in having that much power, which is why I have a 20 year old VFR750, plenty fast enough yet slightly scary handling to slow me down. Still powerful enough to go to court for wheelying out of a roundabout in front of an undercover cop car too.

But everyone is different and if you want the ease of a large engine with more power and handling than you're ever going to use then go for it.

Of course if the riding position is a bit extreme, you could buy riser blocks for the bars. I know someone who has them and they do make the position a little more upright

Only going by what I have read in reviews and sitting on bikes in dealers. Couldn't afford a new one anyway.

Cheers for the advice, looks like I need to get saving then get a few test rides sorted.
