Actually you can buy a plastic holding tool that bolts to the crankcase for around 30 quid. Better idea than trying to hold the 80 quid tool anyway. But you still need access to a big torque wrench.

That picture was taken about 5k ago so the wear is even greater. Still works fine, even in the heavy traffic. Quite pleased as we were advised to change it on the last service. Managed to buy a complete, hardly worn one off Ebay for 90 quid.

It's not just mileage Stu, it's age of belts. They need changing every 12k or two years, whichever is sooner.

Britney's bike had only done 2.4k in six years, but the belts were OLD!
