I have fitted a cushion, or an 'inflatable stadium seat' to be more accurate.
![]() ![]() I bought it from Putnams http://www.putnams.co.uk/travel.htm. It works on the same principle as an Airhawk for a fraction of the price. Its very comfortable ,no numb bum and the channel down the middle takes pressure off the pelvic bone so no numb tackle. I am sure their are those who will dismiss it because it is cheap but it is well made and robust. I have never used a gel; corbin; or airhawk seat so cannot make a comparison but it works for me. The photos do make it look more bulky than it actually is. If you decide to give it a go you simply need to remove the poppers, tie on with 3mm shock/bungee cord and semi-inflate to the level you find comfortable, fully inflated is not effective. Its the perfect size for the SV and for me has transformed long distance riding. Some BMW user went a bit nuts for it in December so you may want to read their opinions on it http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=203852. |

don't look very secure that airbed, no doupt is comfy, but you wouldn't want it moving about under you.

It does add slightly to the seat height so if your at full stretch scooping out the seat as you suggest is probably a better idea.
As to whether its secure or not that is something that concerned me when I first fitted it, and I had intended to put industrial strength velcro between it and the seat but as it turned out the cord, pulled tight, has held it firmly in position. |
