Filled up both bikes in Sainsbury's on the way back from a nice evening ride. A bit of a queue but it's often that bad on a normal day anyway. Cars are both fairly full already.

The biggest worry, IMHO, is the lack of stock if the strike does happen. Last time the tanker drivers striked the country had around 14,000 filling stations. There are currently around 8,000. That's a whole lot less fuel to go around.

There's loads they are asking for.
Health and Safety
Better Training
Better pay and pensions
Changes to disiplinery procedures
And a few more I cant remember.

I have no wish to back to the bad old days of children up chimneys, miners getting buried in their hundreds and riveters accidentally getting sealed into ship's hulls, but those three words get used to justify all manner of stupidity

Well, OK, instead of just being on strike, why don't they use the time to all go on the necessary health and safety courses?

Ah what's the worse that can happen, just stop the country for a week. I had no idea they earned £45k a year, that would be awesome money for driving a truck!

I presume they get a decent wedge (note wedge not wage) is because theres a bit thats a top up of danger money, on top of what would be a normal truckers wages.

Would you drive a truck with flamable liquid on, for the same as Mr white van man down the road?
