Leaving Watford recently I thought I'd gone through a camera near the Grove golf course doing about 36, and then couldn't remember if it was a 30 or a 40, but I'd seen a flash. 2 weeks waiting for the letter... nothing... phew. Then mum asked if I'd got caught in the big thunderstorm coming home that night on the bike... doh. Was in the car but I reckon the flash was lightning as next time I drove past the Grove there's no camera there! Numpty.

Was stopped doing well above 110mph in December around Birmingham on the motorway a Sunday night. As I was tucked behind the screen took few minutes to actually see the black bmw with his light behind me....

He stopped me to tell me I was crazy and show me the size of the tyre in contact with the tarmac... And send me on my way...

Got me really quiet for the next few miles...

Then you smashed open the throttle again and carried on your way?

Well yeah of course. It was actually the night I bought my SV - ride it back from around Bristol to Newcastle. I had to see what the bike could do....

Got one last year,my first in 45 years of bike and car driving,56 in 50 zone near Gainsborough, took the speed awareness course in Chesterfield, and let me say it was brilliant,no lecture,no preaching, just 4 hours of informative talk that reminded and taught me things I had forgot decades ago!!!

Fixed Penalty is £100 now, went up last summer. But they can't give points for the previous case, if you attended the course that's the end of that matter.

Any ideas on the consequences?

3 points and £100 fine

Or you will be lucky and get a speed course

I've only ever been pulled once. Was on the motorway the middle of night with no traffic and I was doing a "tad" over the speed limit. Bloke was nice and recorded my speed as 85 so did a speed awareness course the following month.

They have a job to do and some of them can show compassion if your polite. Shame the knobs ruin it for the rest of them.
