As I say though I've only got TPF&T... so if I have an own fault accident they arent paying out for my bike anyway. If its not my fault then my policy shouldn't matter, and if its stolen then they'll never know anyway.

I can't see how I'd ever get problems for it, but I'd like to be sure...

well if it doesnt say in the small print...

phone the insurance co up for a new quote and while theyre doing that ask the what if I do this to the bike questions and if they say no prob you know youre covered and if they go oooohhh no then find an insurance co who accepts bikers mod their bikes...

I think if you cancel a policy half way through there may be penalties... when I sold my gpz to go to oz it was short of the year and I still had to pay a set amount to cover the time Id been insured... but I was on a dd scheme then so... Ask the new co. if theyd give you a discount for you to change... worth a try...

also possibly find a co. that cover guys who build street fighters/chops as theyre always changing the bikes...

You can put the baffles back in yourself but it would still need to be inspected at your local MOT place, as they have to stamp it.

you always know where i am scoobs if you need advice.

Yes thank you.

Flamin' Squirrel, I've got a rivet gun lying about somewhere if you still want a lend, but you'll need to find some rivets... Had to replace some of the ones on my can when I bought it as they'd been fitted by a cripple, and then naturally lost all the spares

I have had three non fault accidents, after each accident I have had my bike inspected by a claim assesor from the third party's insurance. I have had a race can every time. Two never said a thing and the third commented how it was a shame that the pipe had been damaged beyond repair and that the can was beautiful. He also mentioned that due to the fact that it was a race can I had obviously not told the insurance company and that he could only put down the cost of a standard can on the claim form.

Jordan, I think you worry to much, but then it's your insurance so I guess that's your choice. Personally I wouldn't worry about it. I have told my insurance that I have an aftermarket "legal" can, putely so that I can claim for a better can should I ever have the misfortune to get knocked off again. (please please don't let that be tempting fate). Another off and the wife will ban me from bikes, only this time she would enforce it.

i dunno about the suzi bikes but my standard can on the CBR is 600 quid

the aftermarket blueflame exhaust is 220
so surely its more beneficial that you have an aftermarket one anyway.

there are plenty of CBR standard end cans on e-bay for about a tenner all the time.

I think you're right, I probably do worry too much

I'll probably put the race can on anyway. What was your insurance companies stance on cans out of interest?

well even the companys claims of a 8bhp boost, in reality is only going to be about 1 if your lucky.

my insurance company dont know - its only an excuse for them to charge me more money.
and plus - its not as if its a serious modification such as fitting a turbo is it.

my chain lube claims it increases BHP by 3. i think its a load of cobblers myself but im sure the insurance company woulnt class that as a modification - would they,

as u say- if it relates to the theft side of it - if its stolen . . . they wont know.
