anyone been pulled by the fuzz for havin a race can? - Page 4 - SV650.org

We've been told time and time again that small plates attract the law more than most other illegal bolt on.
With my loudish can and dark visor I'm not going to push my luck with a small plate.
Doesn't make it go any faster, stop or steer better.

my uncle is a police man and rides an xjr1300 with a full akro system!

he was a good boy and bought a road legal akro to put on as his insurance didnt like the race can, they were happy with that!

however, come renewall time they will cover the bike but not the system, ie if he crashes it they will want to put a new yamaha system on!! despite the increase in cost!

when i spoke to my insurane bout race cans, it didnt matter if i wasnt comp insured, as they would only void the policy if the can was a contributing actor to an accident, ie, exhaust blows up and i claim for fire damage to the bike,,, confusing i know!

well you can always change it over be for the insurance companys look at it!

thats what my mate did ! on his "not for road use" micron can on his bandit

remeber these companys are dealing with thousands of claims a week! they are not gona come rushing out to se your bike! and you have the right to keep your bike at the sceen of an acident ( I.E take it home, bash the standard up so it looks the same) ...( i think).. should be fine

or you can declare it lol

well im gona run my sv with the full kenz or whatever system (surposidly the loudest u guys recon) and ur probaly right! So if im fine ur all sure to be!
