All the above is sound stuff (aprt form getting a Hornet , of coures plus:

Keep it clean -not the gretest finish - top yoke and forks were the worst on mine and I wasn't rigorous enough on regular washing and...

Make sure you get the side stand down properly.. easy (well, in my cack handed experience) to not do it quite right and then you need a new clutch lever and gear pedal...

thanks for all the top tips and advise, im not getting a hornet any time sooon.

i like the v-twin the way it goes and sounds is amazing, me dad have a ducati and a harley, me uncle has a harley, me brother has a vstrom if i had a hornet id get laughed at sorry....
told my insurance its not restriced didnt make a difference (thicko's) but atleast my back is coverd, if the old 5-0 pull me over, i'll just bust out the old documents "look buddy im taxed im insurured i have a full licence,wot? "

unless you get the bike cops, but u know what dont be a **** on the road and they wont pull ya simple done nearly 20,000 miles on 2 bike in 18 months, this is my 3rd bike now and havent had any bad luck (coppers) so far .. im not a cocky ****, im just tellin it the way it is.. thanks for you replies.. p.s ive had a bad day at work today (boss's ar c*nts)

Default New to SV

Early indications are: -

The bike's fine for filtering, but yes, I agree, the steering lock isn't tight.

I've only just got my used Naked, so, having migrated from a CB500, I find that the power on the SV is generally ON or OFF. Currently, I'm getting used to blipping the throttle before down changes, but I've a way to go to get it right.
