whom we lovingy referred to (behind his back of-course) as SPLINTERDICK

I remember reading a letter in a magazine the week after it had published a feature on this subject. It was from a woman asking parents to realise what a handicap a 'funny' name could be.

Her name was Helen Highwater.

I worked with a guy called Trevor Pratt. He got fed up with the jibes so changed his name by deed poll to Trevor Francis.


From then on he was known as "that prat Francis".


You can't win in the workplace!

a guy in the year above me at scoll was called michael hunt

we called him mike.

I was trying to find someone else, but found this instead. Still good for a little joke at their expense.

I give you, Susan Doctor.

Whilst not immediately funny, she was a Professor at the University of Nevada, and as such, had completed a Ph.D to hold the position.

So therefore, she was Dr. Doctor!
