Can someone tell me what is Highways?

Spoke to Cust service bloke who appoligised asked him to supply & fit fender extender as a good will gesture which he has agreed to do when I get 600 mile service next weekend .

Hopefully thats it sorted

Good result, glad you got your bike back

Err....just a little warning note: one plug "failing": possible. A whole batch....very, very unlikely (although not unheard of). The problem is that when some (stress, SOME) mechanics replace a spark plug, and the problem then goes, they report a "duff" spark plug. Unfortunately, they then rarely search out the cause of why the plug "failed" - or probably more accurately, fouled.

The MOST common causes of this are: engine run very slowly for extended periods (not uncommon during run-in); too much fuel (perhaps caused by use of choke and enthusiastic throttle pumping); insufficient available voltage to put a spark across the plug gap (sometimes a faulty ignition system, most commonly the plug shorted out by water around the leads, caps etc etc).

What this all means is that it MIGHT just hapen again if they haven't fixed the cause. You might consider, if you do a lot of short journies at rather slow speeds, a switch to Iridium plugs. They are more tolerant.

Mechanic showed me plug that had failed it was not fouled , if there is still a problem then I will be straight on the phone back to the dealer .
Bike is used daily for 50 mile run , not much town work therefore average normally 60 - 70 mph , bike not left to idle at startup

Will have to wait and see hopefully it was a duff plug , but hay who knows except the mechanic who seemed ok to me

Guess will see

Cheers Steve

Guess the only thing left to do is to fire it up, get on it and rag the nuts off it to ‘learn it’ good!!! After this it will be to scared to misbehave again
