Surely its in their interests to keep you as a satisfied customer. Might be worth a try ?
They might do that, but oh, the labour charges to strip 2 FI systems down (labour chargable to suzuki GB for all warranty disputes apparently)
We have done that for a few customers in the past..its all part of the service that a dealer can give. Yes it puts us out when its not our fault but hey that happens sometimes to give a good end service. We just then claim the labour back it took us to take one off a stock bike and put it onto another etc which suzuki will pay if they havent got the part in stock.

Imagine how annoyed you'd be if you bought a new bike and it turned out not to have any throttle bodies

That would be a bit of a bummer wouldnt it

We actually still have a GSXR1000K6 sat in our lock up pending a few fairing panel that we took off for a customer that dropped his. Good customer service from us has been rewarded by his brother now purchasing a new 600K6..it always pays in the end no matter how much it can put you out.

Although bear in mind with suzuki customer services your not actually dealing with suzuki - i understand its an external company.

Absolutely, and that cuts both ways- Carrick Yamaha in Edinburgh thought they were doing well to stiff me out of a £250 exhaust on their own warranty- but I know I've cost them the sale of a 998 and a Hornet since then I think most people tend to stick tight to good dealers, I know I do.

And I have an update! Well, of sorts.

I rang Suzuki Customer Services back today and found out the guy that so spectatularly unhelpful yesterday was called Paulo. With that information I asked to speak to the manager and was told that the manager isn't available to the public so I threw a strop and demanded to speak to a senior manager then. Eventually I was put through to a supervisor who started the conversation with an apology. She apologised for the faulty part and for the slow delivery and said she would take 'personal' interest in ensuring this was resolved. Much better than yesterday but still not actually doing much, she pretty much said that everything had to be done through the dealers which was fair enough. I asked about a donor bike to take bits from and was told that it was an option that was available to the dealer but they hadn't discussed it with Suzuki. There was lots of talk of Suzuki 'supporting' the dealer. I was also told to expect a call from the dealer by midday to discuss a hire bike etc.

Midday came and went. I get on well with the dealer so I gave them a ring to see if what Suzuki Customer Services had said tallied up and sure enough, they had no idea they were supposed to ring me or anything about a donar bike. So yet again Customer Services had been pretty useless.

There is good news though! Basically the dealer contacted the head of Suzuki UK Technical dept and between them they've hatched a plan to borrow a part from Crescent Suzuki to put onto my bike while I'm waiting for the throttlebodies to appear from the ship on the sea somewhere!!

Fingers crossed I should have my bike up and running again within the week and then the throttlebodies will be replaced in October when they are available!

Have to say, well impressed with Lamba's. They've done everything and then some trying to get my bike back on the road for me. Just shows what a good dealership can do.

Sounds like your dealer is doing their best to look after you.

Shame. I was looking forward to suing them

...as I have with the dealer responsible for a bike of someone else on here...

lol, nope, no suing! Lamba's are excellent, I can't recommend them highly enough. They have spent a good long while trying to find a solution to get my bike back on the road. Been going to them for a while and they have proved a consistent high level of service.

My point was that it shouldn't be necessary, after 7 years and a model upgrade (depending upon one's viewpoint ), for the owner to spend money modififying a brand new bike to correct such a basic a design fault that Suzuki themselves should have sorted.

Anyway.... back to the thread....... sounds like Kate might be getting some service at last
