course it is a write off - doesn't stop you buying it back to polish it up!

Now that's bad news. Really sorry to hear about this, very glad you're not too badly hurt. All the best in getting it sorted.

Is the crack under the seat, bent exhaust, scuffed bung from dropping it on the RHS? Or did you keep it upright?
i'm not sure cuz i black'd out for a short while and i cant remember if the bike did go over or not but the marks make me belive it did, the zorst is bent? i cant see the bike being dropped on its side doing that.

It does look like it's slid in some ways, but not in others... Was the van still moving maybe? It could have dragged the bike once it was down...

I reckon so - make sure you hold out for a good price - at least you have loads of photo evidence and witnesses for how good a condition it was in.

Try here for a good bike solicitor:-

Sorry to hear and see mate,
Even more sorry to say that if you're fully comp, then it's probably a write off. My T bone was very similar damage wise (40mph though), and it was written off.

try to find out where the local traffic nick is in relation to the accident and phone them - should be able to put you in touch with the attending officer.

Hope you're feeling better physically (and I know how you'll be feeling mentally)

Chin up!!!!

Glad you're in one piece

The bike will almost certainly be a write off - the insurance assessor will add up everything, such as the bent brake lever, crumpled exhaust, scratches on the forks, etc. and then start adding in labour costs. When it reaches the value of your bike, that's it

It's not the end of the world - my thou was written off, but I had it back on the road for under £900 including a service from my local dealer as well. I had to pay some silly penalty to buy it back, but ended up with just under £2k to get it working again, so ended up a grand in pocket
Of course the resale value will be much reduced

Remember, your bike still looks better than TSM's, and he's riding around on his
