My instructor thinks I am doing well with the U-turns but little he knows my heart RPM is close to 200 and I am half blind with fear of dropping the bike.
So drop the beeding bike (not on test) do it - not your bike, its insured (damage waiver maybe) so why care about it - get the fear of dropping out of your system - just dont hurt yourself.

Nope, you should be able to do it on what you turn up on - which is why I paid the extra to use their bike and not the SV I had sitting in the garage.

The Bike will turn faster than you can make it if you let it. Ditch the terror-grip on the bars, turn it slightly and you will feel the bike want to turn those bars to full lock, so let it.

The only thing stopping you doing it 10 time out of 10 is you.

I have the same issue with the SV - I dont believe I can do a U-Turn, so every time I mess it up, same was happening on cornering - but the last couple of days has seen my cornering improve, mainly because I just look to where I want to go and let the bike take me there.

Bikes are very much go where you look - maybe on the 2 U-Turns you mess up you are not looking where you are going, but at where the front wheel is pointing?

You'll get it in the end mate, just believe in you and dont fear the U-ey

Disagree with you there. Both the full bike test and the CBT are changing in the next couple of years.
Well not doewn here its not, only the cbt is changing.

A 30sec google search gives:
http://www.network.mag-uk.org/oct06p16.html
http://www.insidebikes.com/bikeworld...8/cbt_test.htm
http://www.motorcycletrainingkent.com/
http://www.motorcycle.co.uk/lists/training.html (at the bottom)
http://www.dft.gov.uk/stellent/group...028165-12.hcsp

Last is a Dept Of Transport official web site,

So I think it's fairly clear that the CBT & Full Test are both changing.

all those links are pointing towards the cbt, NOT the actual das test! weve had the paperwork through at work, and no where does it say about das test changing, its the cbt.
Weve already said its a joke as not every county is going to get a specialised site! plus it means putting the cost up of cbt's AGAIN! here you can pay from £100 (Us)- £120!!!

Dave - my hot tips are:-

(a) remember to turn the indies off. I still ride round pressing the cancel button, just to make sure...

(b) when you check the mirrors or do a lifesaver etc, look like you mean it so that someone who is fairly bored behind you can actually see you move your head.

Ed – indicators aren’t the problem at the moment but I too keep pressing the cancel button again and again to be sure they are off. I do not use mirrors most of the times. I was told to look over my shoulder so practically I am doing lifesavers all the time. E.g. crossing lines
1) life saver
2) indicator
3) life saver
4) move close to the white line
5) life saver
6) cross the line
7) cancel indicator

I use mirrors only when “bombing” down a road to check on traffic behind me.

SoulKiss – not sure I want to try to start dropping the bike. If you knew my instructor you wound understand why. I am sort off looking forward to the test now. Just want to do it, pass and than start looking for a bike. I may wait till after Christmas (I believe that’s the best time to buy with people short of money and biking season still months away). I haven’t decided what I am going to get as yet but hot candidates are SV 650S, Hornet 600, SUZUKI – GSR 600. I will decide on the spot pending the offer.

Please go and check your facts before posting, the cbt is not going to change but the motor bike test is, if your on a small bike 125cc or 500cc you will have to go to a new out of town test center purpose built for the new motor bike test because it has an off the road part which requires a very large laid out course which will require the candidate to do several riding skill manuvers, once this has been completed then they will be taken out for there road part of the test.

There is a very good article in riders digest this month, if the people at your bike school dont know whats going on and how the new changers are going to effect every one then do the decent thing and get a copy and insist every one reads it.

The DSA have been sending out information about it to bike schools for over a year now and some one im not sure who i think you have paid far to much for your training, £600 for a das course and £120 for test day is taking the **** for 2 hours before your test and the test its self which only costs £58 currently.

I expect they will charge you again if you fail.
