Sorry to hear that fella. Hopefully the hole in your knee will heal as quickly as Pedrosa'a and you'll be riding again real soon.

Cheers Keith

Well folks, thanks for all your concern

The results are in, and the technical term for my injuries is "gammy hand and gammy knee" (those were the words of the doctor).

Basically, I'm a firm believer that hospitals are for the critically ill, which I wasn't, so I didn't go to hospital. However, I have a private medical cover, and my doctors surgery has it's own x-ray machine & all sorts of gubbins. So I popped along there instead.

I have a few small scratches etc, but mainly the area about 1sq-in on my left palm that has 2 missing layers of skin, and I have 3 holes by my knee. Most of this, I just see as another story to earn a few pints in the pub, but one hole in my knee is pretty serious. That's the one that's gone right through to my patella (knee cap bone), and is now infected. So I'm taking pain killers, anti-inflamatories & ant-biotics.

The bike? Well, it's not pretty, but the damage is just as I said. I've also asked for some more work to be done to it, but nothing major really. Total cost of stupidity at the moment is at £370 (now including new front Z6). I'm waiting to get the bike back, and it'll probably be saturday that I pick her up.

I was in the wrong frame of mind to be riding in the first place, and can only blame my own stupidity for the fall, but we live & learn. I was also wearing pretty cheap textiles, more emphasis on protection from wind/water than tarmac, so it was pretty in-evitable that I was going to do some damage.

Overall, I was pretty lucky, it could of been worse. Time to spend some more money & get things right this time. At least I know where hurts when you fall.

Again, thanks for all the good wishes folks
