Mini Indicators are very very stupid

My bike still has all OE equipment which was how and why it was granted type approval. Equipment fitted as non-standard providing it has its"E" mark is okay by me. If people want to fit non-conforming equipment and get fines and points thats okay by me. I just don't like having to look over my shoulder all the time,I prefer to look at the traffic and not care if there is a police presence

Well, I'm afraid I agree with the majority on here - there is nothing wrong with minicators they are perfectly visible and legal. Small number plates is simply a legal point. Do you break any road laws Sholay, Oldjack? Not even a little bit over the speed limit?

In the last couple of years I have seen the aftermath of three accidents with bikes, oddly enough all with standard kit. Cars were the other part of the incidents of course but I don't know who was ultimately to blame but I think if I hazard at a guess the chances of me being right are high.

I have had cars pull out on me when I have two headlights lit. If they can't see them I think that minicators are neither here nor there in the argument.

Ok load cans can be noisy, so can car stereos and car exhausts an old people that have their TV's so load you can hear them outside the house!

Car drivers are not a red herring - they can be the only reason for anyone to raise these issues - I haven't come across many, if any, accidents between bikes cos one bike didn't see the other.

Wot a stupid thread It sounds to me that you shouldn't be on the road if such things cause you that much of a problem.

I have have smaller (brighter than OE) indicators

I have a lovely sounding pair of CCC cans (with the baffles removed)

I also have have a smaller than legal plate (6 x 4) but it is still perfectly readable & I know lots of people who have much smaller plates - NONE of which have been put on to avoid being read - just to make the bikes look neater

Therefore I'm stupid, insane, intellectually challenged & a probable criminal - hmm, strange that my security clearance never picked up on any of that !!

Don't try to justify an offensively loud exhaust on safety grounds, you've only got them because you like the sound, go on admit it.

Use mini indicators if you like, just don't blame the person who knocks you off 'cos he didn't see the indicator.

Haven't really got an opinion on small number plates, you'll be pleased to hear

Deary me. It was a very amusing comment though. I hear bikes where I live all the time when the sun is out (darn fair weather bikers!) but what riles me is the chav's in their Corsa's doing 60 in a 30 zone. I don't really find loud vehicles annoying at all but then I live near an airport!
