If (big if) you can get an answer out of Suzuki they will of course tell you it has been resolved! There is a small plastic flap in front of the cylinder on a K6...
Ha bloody ha. From their point of view I guess it's 'reduce dividend to shareholders by fixing problem' versus 'ignore problem, it'll go away'. Like the Hero says, we all (even the ranty whiners like me) just fix it ourselves and get on with enjoying the bike. |

If your going to be doing a lot of dual carriageway, motorway riding, you'll be a lot more comfortable on the S model rather than the N you're looking at.
TBH the SVS doesnt have that sporty a riding position, its fine, I've done thousands of miles on mine and never a hint of wrist ache. The key to it is to set the position of the clutch and front brake lever so that its comfortable for your body shape. TBH even my GSXR is comfortable to, but again I had to tweak the position of the clutch and brake lever to make it so. This simple adjustment is missed by most riders and I suspect its why alot of suffer with sore wrists. The other thing to bear in mind is that the more you ride the more you'll get used to the riding position and your body will adapt to it and it will get more comfortable. The only way to make your own mnd up is to get a test ride on both models and then you'll know for sure. As for water in the front plug, it takes minutes to solve it. I never ever was effected buy it until my bike had clocked over 30K on it. I wouldnt let that put me off buying a SV.

Not at all...they're good tourers. Turbo makes them a bit nippier
![]() Seriously though...I got my 1st SVs last year and struggled with it big time. I'm 6'1 13.5 stone with the kit on. Problem I found was the riding position. Very sore on the wrists from the firsdt minute I got on it. I presumed this would get better after a few days/weeks but didn't. Other major problem was the bouncy front end. I rode mine right through the winter but the combination of wrist pain, bouncy front end and engine braking caused severe tendonitis on my wrists - which resulted in 8 weeks of physio. I tried a variety of different bikes and the SV just didn't agree with me at all. I even had a Ducati 748 and it never posed a problem. I ended up getting rid of my SVs in Feb and getting a honda cbr. I have no problems whatsoever with comfort. On the motorway it is sublime. Another bike I would look at is a Thundercat or a Steel framed CBR. Both superb comfy bikes. FWIW I didn't like the new kwak much (at the time). |

Thanks for the posts.
I've been told to get some crash bungs & oil cooler cover. How much are we talking for the bungs and oil cooler cover please? Also can I dab some normal grease over the area subsceptible to the water ingress. I've also been told they do the SV650 (not S version) with a fairing. I might just order one of these bikes in the next few days. After going to Sherburn today and riding flat out at 50mph and being hammered by the wind I realise I have to get a move on. If someone can give me the info to the above I would be much obliged. |
