Re: Top Gear is back
Though it was pretty good this week. Watched it on iplayer so skipped the two celebs I've never heard of. Rory and Harris are definitely the two strongest members of the team. Get rid of joey and the ginger and you'll have a half decent program

Re: Top Gear is back
Agreed - although the two celebs weren't the greatest from a motoring point of view they were both quite entertaining - all round it was an enjoyable hour (apart from Chris and Matt...)

Re: Top Gear is back
Well hate us if you must, but we liked it so much that we went to a recording of an episode in this series. Chris Evans and Matt Le Blanc really know their cars, Rory and Chris on Extra Gear are the real stars, Sabine and Eddie are fantastic foils for their delivery. Stop wanting what was and live with what is, if you take it as two new shows you really have something good happening here. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the old crew, but we are able to cope with change, treat it as something new, you just might like it.

Re: Top Gear is back
Watched the new Top Gear for the first time yesterday. I had given up with the old line up as although I like James May's work it had all become a bit juvenile and far removed from the informative magazine program of yesteryear. On a positive, I enjoyed Matt's repartee from the seat of the new Rolls. Chris Evans seems happiest telling us about what he owns himself. Gave up listening to his Radio Two show some time ago as his ego became too annoying and out of touch with the reality of everyday life. Will give the show another go, and maybe Evans will be the butt of some more well timed digs. More enjoyable than the early reports led me to believe anyhow.

Re: Top Gear is back
If you skip the celeb bit it's actually not too shabby.

Re: Top Gear is back
I'm not keen on the new format for the rally cross car bit, but the rest is alright.
Chris Evans isn't grating as much as he did in the first episode, needs to calm down a bit more still though

Re: Top Gear is back
I kind of feel sorry for the bloke, he obviously loved the show and loves cars, he has had great success in the past but he just didn't fit.
Surely the BBC must have screen tested him, it was obvious his style isn't right for Top Gear. They have a good team in Rory and Harris and I really like the way the program is now a car show again, not just 3 blokes having a laugh, although that was fun to watch too at times.
