I'd have considered it years ago, but I'd just stop right away now. It ain't worth risking my life to escape a traffic fine and some points.

+1, could outrun the cops on a MTX125 in town and on a CBR600F on the open roads in the early 90's. I lived in Blackpool so loads of wee alleyways, footbridges over the railway, etc and there was always the 'kill the headlights and head for the beach option'. In those days if a copper realised he couldn't catch you he gave up and made a mental note to keep his eyes open for you in future. Now they get on the radio for backup.

These days if I surprise a copper and they couldn't have got a clear view of my plate ie: travelling in opposite direction and I saw them pulling a u turn in my mirrors, I wouldn't run, but equally I wouldn't slow down and make it easy for them to catch me. I'd just keep blasting on and keep the advantage and put as much distance in between us as possible, change direction if the opportunity arose to do it whilst he wasn't visible in the mirrors.

If you surprise a copper the chances are he has no evidence of your speed anyway so your just getting a bollocking "I don't know what speed you were doing but...." if he does catch up with you.

But if a coppers up behind you, or he's seen you before you saw him, or you can't keep a good distance ahead and so pretend you didn't realise he was chasing, pull over, when you're caught proper, trying to get away is very foolish.

Take your lid off. ACPO Guidelines state no pursuit may be commenced/continued if the pursued rider has no protective equipment. No lid, no chase. Of course when you come off and brain yourself...

I would get down footpaths, heavy traffic, speed humps and alleyways, failing that of getting away in the first 5 mins, i would then head for a roads and try to lose them there.

In honesty i would do a runner if i got caught doing 110+ speeds, i would be raped anyway for not being restricted, haveing race exhausts, and haveing a plate the size of a matchbox.

Anyone got any tales or tactics to share?

My advice?

Don't bother.

If i was asked to pull over, i bloody well would and be as cooperative as i could.

Often, when i am speeding, I know I am...so I cant use that excuse of "i didnt know i was going that fast". So i only go 10mph over the limit (depending on the road, of course. Some roads are 40mph but I wont go faster than 30!)

And yes, they will have that rather silly excuse for a numberplate

If you are ment to be restricted, be restricted. Riding a bike unrestricted when you should be restricted is against the terms of both your lisence and the terms of your insurance.

Ive been pulled over so many times, espically on my RS125 on the estate in London. About once aweek I would get stoped, because they supected it was stolen, cheers!
I got pulled in my Capri once, going along the motorway, the speed dropped from 70 to 50, I was slowing to 50 but was prob doing 65 when the blue lights came on behind (was a bike!) pulled over right away, he checked the car over, said he used to have one, i think he expected it to be tatty, but no mine was lovly and clean! Then asked me to come to the station, so i did. but half way there he said, ok, you can go. I thought maybe he was waiting for me to do a runner.
