JT is a very talented rider, he deserves to be in MotoGP more than any other UK rider for a long time now.

He is not learning the track, he is learning to ride a MotoGP bike around that track. Just because it has two wheels doesn't mean it is the same as his 998, 999, and Fireblade were around Philip Island.

I was just about to add that. Everything about riding PI is different on a Motogp bike- when James first started riding he was braking something like 50metres too early, maybe more. So he did have to relearn PI in a way.

I'm shocked at some of the comments on here really, with people writing him off- ok some may know me as a big JT fan, but seriously!!??!!
Just the other day, Toby and Julian were talking about how shocked the Italian press were with our press writing off James after Doni etc.
And I agree.

For the first year of riding on a motogp bike and learning the majority of the circuits, I think he's done a sterling job- he's had a couple of dodgy races with the tyres, and Doni didn't help his cause, but he fought on. U only need to watch one of the test days to see how much he goes out to try and find the ultimate setting for him and the bike.

Next year, when they are on the Bridgestones, I think you'll see a great improvement- PI showed what James can do on the bike, and who he can battle with. When James has the settings right, and has a dry weekend, he can perform excellently.

Give him a chance!

P.S. He'll be having an end of season party so if anyone wants to put their doubts/queries towards him, I'm sure he'll answer them!

I sincerely hope he proves me wrong and goes on to win races, i'm just saying that i don't think he can live with the big boys in MotoGP.

But the way Suzi sodding Perry keeps harping on about he doesn't know the circuits...oh come on, he's a bloody racer, it's his proffesion ffs, if he doesn't know how to take a corner now he never will

I think you'll find Rossi did this to Stoner for about 25 laps at Laguna. It's race tactics and shows just as much skill as riding flatout fast IMO.

Nope.

People should ditch the "holding people up comment". This is racing ffs! People don't hold people up, they keep positions. And if people didn't "hold people up" then it would be a pretty dull affair with a 26 lap procession being led by the fastest ride/bike package down to the slowest.

Nothing wrong with holding people up.

I would bad mouth JT after Donnington which was a bad run.
But after Philip Island...nah....

To say JT cant handle motogp after only 1 year in the premier class is unfair. IMO he has done well for his rookie year, hes beaten many moto gp veterens and brought in some top 6 finishes. Good on ya james, more for next year!

It is very 'English' to criticize but give the lad some slack! he goes out every meeting and puts his heart and soul in to racing that bike. He proved that at donnington for me, he came off but he got back on and ran the full distance for his fans. That day made me proud to be a JT fan and it makes me sad when a minority seem to want to pull him down all the time.

It seems like some people are only a JT fan when he has a good race. Every racer will have trouble on some days but its this time when fans should get behind there idols and cheer them allong, thats when they need it the most. Ill be cheering the lad allong all the way next year, through the good and the bad. Go James!
