in my opinion he won the title because ducati got the 800's right first time.. and the other bikes in the 07 season were inferior to it. stoner is an amazing rider, no doubts but he isnt a Showman (like boring pedrosa) he has no charisma to his riding (like bayliss does/did) hes just a one pop wonder like Nicky Hayden i think.. except casey just does one.. and wins by miles.. great riding but boring TV, and i dont watch racing to watch a guy sod off every race.. and just win.. I WANT ACTION!! like Scwanz and Rainy.. Biaggi and Rossi.. Stalker and Hodgeson... it didnt matter if they were 1st and 2nd.. or 15th and 16th the action was AMAZING!! what does GP have now?.. zero.. so its all about WSB!! my favorite series by far.. twice the race.. half the ticket price 100% more action

Nope he's not but every now and again I go through periods of getting tired with Rossi playing the clown all the time.
But Laguna Seca last year was some of the most exciting racing I've ever watched, it ranks for me with Baylis vs Edwards at Imola in 2002. I want more of that, and IMHO Casey is one of the few riders who does take Rossi on. He might not always win and then whinge about paint swapping but "rubbin's racing" isnt it...

Maybe, thats what I was getting at, you take Casey out of the equation and it'll be even more boring...

me personaly.. im addicted to WSB now.. after last season im hooked.. with the supersport too.. would any one prefer to see production bikes modded to an inch of their existance being launched around a track.. or a group of 14 - 28 odd year olds ponsing around on hairdryers lol i think WSB makes the racing closer to the fans.. if you have the bank and the contacts a WSB bike could be yours... WSB all the way ![]() |

wsb is far superior in my opinion bike's are more relevant to what we ride you've still got the big named rider's the action's a lot closer and gritty.

I too, remember Casey coming up to Knockhill when he first came over to race in this country, in the RS125 series(?). I also remember Neil Hodgeson saying what a very likeable young man he is (I have never met Casey, so I'm quite happy to take Neil's word on it).

[quote=shonadoll;1792075]It doesn't automatically make you a sheep because you support Rossi....
No, of course it doesn't, but if you go to any race track you will see a flood of Rossi yellow. I think it is on a par with loads of people supporting Man U. or whoever, i.e. whoever is currently winning. They are a bit like sheep. |

The other thing that really gets me though, (and I know it is a superstitious thing) is that he is always howking about with his 'nads/backside!! There's just no need (can't remember which race it was, but he had crashed in practice and had 5 or so minutes to get back to the pits, get the no. 2 bike, go out and do an out-lap, then do a final qualifying lap, but I was in absolute stitches laughing along with Toby and Julian when they mentioned there had been no hauling about of the underwear in his rush to get out on track!) |
