The place I had in mind was the output of the indicator relay. However the fusebox wire might also be suitable - I don't have the circuit in front of me to check.

Nice one Holdup !!! I'd appreciate that ......

I'll ask the garage if they've got anymore, and I'll post you one if I can get one .......

In the meantime ... keep that indicator off

Ok, almost finished this long journey ....

So, for anyone who has this problem in the future - it turns out its a simple fix .... and I'd recommend getting it done ... many a tale of blown fuses and fried electrics ....

1. Get yourself down to a Datatool dealer ...... and ask them for a diode ..... (cost me £2 for 2) .... but they said they've got hundreds knocking around, as each kit they fit comes with one, but most bikes don't need it - so ask nicely !!!
2. Fix the (only need one) diode in to the pale blue wire that comes out of the relay. The relay is the box that is fitted next to the fuse box (under the pillion seat on my pointy) ..
3. Test !!

Thats it ....

Thanks for all your help everyone - esp. Ophic ...

I've yet to fit mine .... but the datatool dealer talked me through it .... I'll confirm it works when I get the chance to wire it in ... but confident it will .....

Soldered the diode in place this morning (along with a load of other connections that needed work)...... and result .... all now working a-ok ....

There wasn't much space to work on, for soldering the diode in place though ... so fingers crossed the solder holds it ok .... shrunk wrapped it in too ... so should be fine ..... but if my indicators ever stop working .. I know where to look first !!! lol.
