Not really, the only time I've been out in the current rain, I've been in my leathers so trundling along fed up at being soaked

Plus my bike currently feels like it's trying to vibrate itself to bits at the moment so I'm more focused on relieving pins and needless than testing grip in the wet.

That said, I did notice more grip recently on wet roundabouts so maybe they take a few miles to go off?

i'm not too sure about these tyres anymore, i had a pair fitted about 600 miles ago and they have gone blue round the edges, especially the front, and recently the front locked up on me on a dry road under braking (not particularly hard braking, more of a quick pull of brake then let off again) at about 45 mph and the tyre never recovered and sent me down the road. may or may not been the tyres but i might be tempted by another tyre next time round.

I've been running these for a guestimated 10,000 odd miles now.
Without doing anything too unexpected they have:
Marked an AR 2up
Toured a bit of Europe with pillion and luggage
Commuted into London and back most days.
Done around 2 track days in both dry and wet conditions without complaint at a moderate intermediate pace.

I've liked 'em.

I'm still not sure on these in the wet. I appreciate it's been warm for a while and although we had plenty of rain overnight, the roads are likely to still be greasy. But today on the way in I had lots of slipping of the rear on roundabouts. Not massive slides, but a lot of slippage/traction/slippage/traction type stuff and riding very sedately compared to what the Storm ST's would normally cope with.

Maybe I'm just getting old

The dunlop rears do like to slide a little in the wet going down the gears.
Sounds like you've hit oil or similar on the road as thats the only time they twitch on me in the wet

The thing to note with the Storms is that they have a relatively flat profile compared to the dunlops

The thing they go on about with the storms is the different belt layouts are supposed to put more rubber on road at lean. Whether it works or not I dunno.

I have not felt need for storm rear to be sharper, old storm 2 front (/70) only issue I had with it was it could have done with being a tad (a small tad at that) faster to turn in. Ultra seems faster to turn in. Result

I'm finding that the rear roadsmart I have on my GSX14 is softer on the top and sides than the Storms. Loving it.
If it lasts 4-5000 that I got out the Avons I'll be amazed.

Only a quid more than the Avons too so fingers crossed. Finally getting a matching front tomorrow. Lovely.

Ultras on the SV and they feel firm compared to the Storms that I ran for years. Not found either end lacking in grip, too early to tell how they are wearing.
