All our ducks in a row. What?! I work in cricket, ducks are always a bad thing and should not be mentioned. And why do they need to be in a row anyway?

Or people who start a sentence 'Basically...' and then go into something in far too much detail.

Or start 'To be honest... ' then tell you something that is a fib.

Or 'Bless him but...' normally said right before saying something horrible about that person. Unless you are a priest stop with your blessing.

And don't get me started on apostrophes.

I work for Lord's, the Home of Cricket. It has an apostrophe. This differentiates it from the House of Lords, without an apostrophe. You'd be amazed by the amount of CVs I get from people asking if we can offer work placements - these are journalism students and they always say they excel at attention to detail. Well first you numpty how about you spell the company name right. Just a small detail. Anyone who puts and i in my name or misses the apostrophe from Lord's will find their CV goes straight in the big file marked bin.

'Can I get?'

No, you can't get it, as you do not work there, you may have it, but whoever is serving you will be the one to get it.

That and perhaps a thousand others.

My eldest daughter point blank refuses to capitalise "I" when referring to herself in print. Her reasoning is she doesn't want to make herself seem more important than she is by using a capital letter. This drives me nuts and has done for many years - no matter how much I tell her there's nothing wrong with using a capital and not using one is grammatically incorrect, she will insist on doing it her way.

Guess what? A common expression used on me by my daughter, in every instance I have no idea 'What' I'm supposed to know.
