Idle Banter For non SV and non bike related chat (and the odd bit of humour - but if any post isn't suitable it'll get deleted real quick).![]() |

So to get to the answer of this question:
You're not far off lol, I ride a Drz400 ![]() The irony of the accusations of me implying that speed is essential should now be apparent. For example: Quote:
Quote:
I sold my pointy SV and bought the drz after deciding I couldn't trust myself to ride the SV responsibly. Im not ashamed to say I took it out for a ride with a few members on here and get held up by a horse box on country lanes. Once I'd made the overtake I opened it up - the roads were clear for miles (in my direction). After a period of playing catch up I thought I'd broken the bike, it didn't seem to have any power to pull away - looked down and saw 137 on the pointy clocks. I know folk on here will be happy with those speeds but I didn't like it, I didn't like that it felt comfortable. I knew then I had to sell it or I'd soon be loosing my life/licence. So I bought the slower DRZ, although it wont top a ton, its about as nimble as they come and 0-50 happens in a blink. |

But this isn't true for all bikes, which makes the statement more 'I like bikes that are quick and manouverable'. That's just 1 mind set, maybe a popular one but not the only one. I liked my HD sat at 60mph, feeling comfy and pillion not moving the bike at all, still being open to the elements and liking the sound and feel when I twisted thr throttle. However, I personally missed the speed and manouverability and got a CBR-F, but I totally get there's more to life than a light flippy bike. I liked the L2 GSXR600 I rode at Silverstone, but I wouldn't buy one for the road again. I would like a YZ125 though!

I would LOVE something that feels like a couch. My zx10 is the exact opposite, in fact if I cant streetfighter it, or at least change the bars it may have to go.
