so i get carers allowance for looking after the wife 24/7 but i'm still allowed to work, best bit is that i can be self employed and claiming allowances for bills, clothing, vat etc.etc.
Bibio, why would the Goverment top you up an additional £4000 for working...even though you'd not have lost any benefits.

Just trying to get my head round THEIR logic mate, as it doesn't seem to make any sense.

Possibly because he's getting a carer allowance not job seekers?

i don't get job seekers as i'm a carer so get entirely different benifits. it's something to do with having 2 kids under the age of 20. it just goes to show how stupid the system realy is. ay £100 a week i wont even pay tax but i can still claim all my vat and such like back if i were self employed. i might have my wires crossed though but it would be interesting to find out.

i have a roof over my head, food in my belly, bills paid, no debt and a motorbike.. what more could anyone ask for.

He'd not be losing any of the benefits he currently gets but will be bringing in an extra 16 hours worth of wages...which means , unless I'm missing something, he'd be about £100 better off straight away.

A single man is allowed approx £70 a week . I also get carers allowance of approx £50 a week ,so they take the 50 from the 70 and give me £20 income support. Then they give me back £40 as a bonus.

Truth is the system is F++ed.
without industry to support export we don't have a chance.
You have a too many imports .into the UK
Look all the foreign cars from Korea flooding the UK.
There needs to be investment in UK factorys.
Not tax breaks to individuals but follow what the enterprises zones did in the 80's

Good point, unless you fix the trade deficit you'll never fully repair the budget deficit.
