Sealey VS1806 - Motorcycle brake piston removal pliers, they cost around £10 now I think.

The large diameter pin on which the upper end of the inner pads sits often has a notch worn into it by the pad, that's not a problem really as it's easily fixed - run weld into it and grind/file back to size. What I was referring to is the interface between the caliper bracket - that allows the caliper to slide side to side - and the caliper body, the holes in the aluminium of the caliper body wear oval, and that's wear that isn't easily addressed.

Thanks SS, I'll look for that before starting the rebuild.

Edit: Ta DD, I'll have a look for a set as there's a pretty comprehensively stocked Halfords near me.

Wemoto also do a complete rebuild kit for each caliper, plus I think you get a tub of red rubber grease with the kit. Stainless pistons too included in the kit i think
Don't know how their prices compare with Fowlers, but their service is great.
