Errm, I think you'll find that all that does is adjust the reach of the lever to the bar. So its either closer and has more of your fingers on it, or further and you use more of your fingertips for squeezing the lever.
Obviously that all depends how long your fingers/hands are.

If you got spongey brakes that aint gonna make any diffrence to the spongy-ness
yeah, i was referring to freeplay,

i thought thats what the guy was after.

but you'll notice your brakes going off if you end up at 1, i know i did

Takes me back to the first time I utterly ballsd up bleeding a brake system... Do be careful, as has been pointed out they're rather import and and I'm not sure I'd have picked them as a 1st unsupervised DIY job
