I think it depends purely on whether the helmet model in question has been type-approved for open face riding - some are some aren't apparently.

Makes me laugh the topics you lot discuss, best option if you get caught doing something that IS illegal, is to be polite and try not to argue with the officer, if the officer asks for your version of events then tell him/her...if they still issue a ticket or report you and you feel your innocent then refute it after the incident. The thing with traffic laws is that it you either get caught doing it or you don't.
If you think what your doing might be illegal then why do it, if you get caught, well thats another issue.

Happy riding

IIRC from my CBT, isn't it illegal to ride with your helmet like that? Not that I would ever point it out of course!
some are approved as open face helmets, with a close down bit, and some are only approved as closed face units.

all depends on the helmet.

Ah, but that's a bias opinion. Knee down, illegal, can't be. It's too much fun to be illegal. Anyhow, I don't do that sort of thing anymore. It hurts to much

TBH I've said that for quite a while! I can't believe how something so exhilarating and so much fun can still be legal!

I could see why it would be if all the politicians rode motorbikes but can you honestly see John Prescott on a Hayabusa?
