I failed my car test three times. Have never been in an accident in 6 years of driving (touch wood) (that might be down to luck). My friends who passed their car test first time have been in several. The amount of money I put into learning to drive has made me treasure my licence so I don't do speed excessively or drive/ride like a lunatic/idiot (most of the time).

Your friend with the 200 hours of training before attempting a test sounds an extremely sensible person to me

Sort of go against each other... 200hours x £18 a lesson = ALOT OF MONEY!

If your serious, why post that, when there are more likely to be people here who have failed their test more than once.

I'm sure you knew before you even posted that it would cause conflict.

I failed three tests (well four if you include the one where CSM told me the wrong day and phoned me five mins before the test was due to start and asked could I get across town in time on a bus) so no doubt some people think I shouldn't be on the road.

First: I wasn't ready really and my nerves got the better of me. Although I got annoyed when I came down a two lane one way street (I had never been down before) and we were going left, there was a bus stop right before the corner and two buses indicating left, I assumed they were going left too so I sit behind them for a little bit, the examiner (in a car) told me they were parked but that i was holding up traffic. I looked round and he had moved into the right hand lane and he was holding up the traffic....I was just a plum sitting behind a parked bus!

Second: It was lashing down and on my U turn I thought I felt the back wheel slip (It probably didn't, out of instinct I put my foot down (first time in months I hadn't done a perfect U turn). Instant Fail

Third: Apparently I was going into corners too fast….on a SR125 got a minor each time I did it. Everything else was fine.

Bad luck on failing your text, hopefully you will pass second time round and watch out for cyclists, then you can join me and dad on the bike Have to say if i had done mine anywhere apart from here i probably would have failed!

If all goes to plan and I pass on the 3rd I should have a bike pretty quickly and will be back in Shrews for a week after serbia, will be nice to get used to a new bike on roads i know
