Under NO circumstances mess about with the stitching on your lid strap.
There are scare stories about the buckle type straps - but they're just that, scare stories, the buckles must be BS approved to be sold here and thus work fine, of course if you don't do it up right it won't work whatever type it is, and I personally feel this is less likely with 'D' ring fastenings, which is the type I prefer anyway. PS. Replica lids = Tacky tat. ![]()
