Bonjour all, woken up this morning and (as I only recently gave up rugby) I feel like i've played the hardest game of my life and feel like I've been boxing.

I also keep thinking its a dream up until I walk in the lounge and see the state the helmet is in. Nevermind, got a docs appointment today and also seeing the bike today, so will post pics of damage later.

UPDATE -

Right all. Have a few updates for you. Firstly me.........feel rubbish, but, been to docs and have been signed off for three weeks initially, he thinks it may be nearer to 6-8!!!!

Now the main part......The bike. Been to see it and the garage have assesed it. The bike appeared to slide on the crash bung down the mway, didn't contact with any other vehicles or barriers etc.

The damage.....the lower fairings have split, the crash bungs have had it completely. The gear lever and gear selector were both , as were the indicators. The main parts, and the most costly are that the front main fairing has split and the whole fairing has moved sideways slightly on the fairing bracket and has bent. The petrol tank has a scuff from my boot on it and thats all, so, with that included to be replaced, the total estimate is £2100. Insurance covers it all, with an excess of £400, so insurance company will fork out bout £1700.

Now I just have to wait for the assesor from the insurance company to pitch up and give his view at the garage.

One worrying part is that the garage thought the insurance company may right it off at that value, but I can't see thats possible as the bike at worse would be worth £2800, so can't see why they would do that. Who knows. I suggested not to replace the tank, but to polish the mark out if it would mean not going down the write off route. I am not keen for it to be written off due to the amount I would loose from not having GAP insurance.

Anyone got any thoughts on the garages comments?

Also, anyone get any thoughts on what I can do for three weeks? My original thought was.......maybe try and become a mega poster. lol

On another note, everyone agrees that I seem to have a guardian angel but who knows, all I do know is that I feel so lucky and don't give a stuff bout the money, just glad to have remained unscathed from a 70mph off.

Drew

2100 for a cracked fairing an indicator and a few leavers, even with the tank and exhaust it cant be that much?? f**k me suzukis are expensive to repair, its only costing me 260 for a fairing side a brake leaver and a bar end on the kwak!!

I must admit there was more to the list, but mainly smaller things, like the double bubble screen, R&G's, also.......the rear axel nut has taken a smack, so will need replacing. I think all in all, the list was about 25 things....but.....I only noticed the ones I could see when I looked at the bike.

I think may need to call them tommorow and get them to email me a full list with prices etc.

Cheers neio, just finding it all a bit much at mo. Not only do I have to deal with work etc just want to make sure that from an insurance point of view I don't get shafted.

I thought, as there is no frame damage, engine damage, no damage to the forks and that the wheel rims have no damage that there is no way it would be a write off.
