The most difficult thing I found was getting the rubber nipple off the vacuum pipe on the front throttle body. It's in a bit of an awkward place, particularly if you have big hands. If you take your time and don't rush it you'll be fine, and the Morgan Carbtune is simplicity itself to use and is good quality. Excellent service too when I ordered mine. As you say, it's worth just paying the dosh to get the kit and do it yourself. I did mine a few months ago and I'll be checking them again now that the nicer weather is on it's way. ![]() Believe me, if I can do it anyone can! Although I'm an engineer things never seem to go according to plan when I get my tools out. ![]() |

At this time of year road salt can really mess up your brake calipers and cause the brakes to drag. I just overhauled my calipers and get an extra 15 miles before my fuel light comes on.

By coincidence I'm doing that now, and they were dragging reasonably badly. (jacked it up and turning the wheel was stiff)

Definite sense of it being a lot smoother on the throttle and less 'jerky' if that makes sense. Also, I had an annoying rattling noise coming from the exhaust which went away completely when balancing the throttle bodies. So I'm guessing that this was something to do with weird airflow as a result of the TBs balance being out.

To help people work out averages, my unrestricted naked K3 gets about 150miles before the fuel warning light comes on, but I do ride like a nana. I rarely go over 7,500rpm but usually out accelerate the cars at lights (it's too easy and fun to do). The K3 shows a solid low fuel light (not flashing) and is a 17 litre tank for non-USA markets.

On the CBR its alot worse sadly......did 3 sessions at my last trackday before needing to fill up......that was about 60ish miles to a tank
