Sold mine with 7k on it, no leaks, just a cheapo shock, with no damping

To you a stock shock will feel w4ank as you put it, but to someone else who is 10 stone, its likely to feel completely different....a bit like that under damped stock suspension on my Raptor, to a fat ar$e it will feel underdamped and rubbish, to them that aren't, it'll be fine leaving us wondering what you lot are whinging about
Open throttle with stock shock fitted, it squats, buggers about and weaves, wallows and generally fools around.
Do same with a better one fitted and you reduce squat under power... not because of fat rider, because of weight transfer under power.

You do research and find out why this is true. Same will happen if you do not have a rider on bike at all.

Stock shocks complete lack of compression damping does not help.

regarding lifespan, shock oil like any other loses viscosity over time and use. 10,000 miles is reasonable lifespan.

I got both SVs with some substantial mileage racked up on them. It was obvious at 20k on the yellow one, it needed a new one. Put Hagon front and rear on that.
Then after finding the massive difference with that it was plainly obvious that after inheriting the black one with 27k on it, and putting 6 more on, that needed changing too. I managed to pick up a stock shock with a garanteed 1500 miles only on it, altough not as good as the Hagon, a significant difference has been noted.

Did you even read my post?

It is about swingarm angle and chain tension... not fat.
