I'd have to declare that I'm a fully paid up member of the sportsbike clan. Luckily for me I have my perfect bike an RR3 Blade. Have done 500 miles plus in a day in comfort around Europe, taken her round Silverstone GP circuit, commuted on it and loads of great rides all over the country in all weathers and all in comfort and big smiles With all the cameras etc yes, you do have keep your eye on the speedo, but i had to do that on my SV as well so I don't think Sportsbikes are at tall irrelevent, its just making sure you get the right one for you, and it gives you the kind of riding that you want .

The super sports bikes do nothing for me. Torn beween GSX1400 which I think looks good but prefer the 2003 paint jobs to the 2004 but don't like the white wheels - and the CB 1300 which I don't think looks as good, is more expensive but seems to have better write ups and the finish is probably better.

Also attracted by Z1000 and Z750 (but not will that silly littel fairing onthe 2005 S model), Triumph Triple but if money was no object I'd really like the new Moto Morini - always had a soft spot for them given I started biking in the 70s and my aspiration then was a Strada but somehow never got round to it...

Don't forget both the Kwak ZRX1200R and the Yam XJR1300.

Seems to me that two (CB1300 and ZXR1200R) are better for riding and less good for posing, and that it's the otherway round for the GSX1400 and the XJR1300 which, being air-cooled, are probably closer to being true "retro" bikes.

All are good bikes............ but the kwak (in green) just about has it from the Honda for me.

Typo... Think that should be ZRX. I sat on all of them at the show (hang on, was there a ZRX there ???) and the Yamaha seemed to be the most comfortable with all the bits in the right places.

Anyway back to me pipe & slippers.....

Same question for the last 20 - or more - years, never have been, never will be.

If people want to buy them, then they're a viable bit of the market.

The Kwak is way more fun, forget the GSX 14, it's a whale, the XJR is nice but has been left behind.
