Just taken the snorkel out of my 650K6.

Fired it up and it doesn't sound any different on idle...

...however when you twist the throttle it makes a big difference. The roar from under the tank is very noticable.

I went for a bit of a spin and it sounds huge in combination with the Beowulf can. It seemed to be popping a little more on the overrun too.

Im intrigued, so does this leave the filter more open for flys/dirt/rain/small children etc to be sucked into the engine?

Excuse my ignorance but i havent seen what it all looks like as i couldnt find a guide for doing this on an SV pointy, so im not entirely sure i understand!Doh!

Anyone got some pics of the process before and after?

If it does run lean, what impact does this have over time? and also obviously i would assume the warranty would be void by completing this mod and then you had engine issues?

I did this mod when i had my first pointy 650 but i didnt like the sound and thought it sounded better with the snorkel in, i did however cut the snorkel flush so its basicaly like taking it out but it does sound better like this imho. My mate bought a pointy with this mod done and i put it back to standard for him and he liked the standard better aswel, plus the can sounds plenty good enough.

Are you guys kidding me???? I did a thread "let it breath" you guys gave me so much hell for it. Now everyone wants to try it lol lol. that is so funny. the cpu does adjust for the top of the box off. I uses a K&N. it would take a lot of wind and water to get in under the tank to the filter. hell just drill a bunch of holes in the upper part of the box it you are worried about water. but I am amazed that this thread is ok to do it but "let it breath" thread was liked said bad things about the queen. got to love ya guys,,, not... LOL

I'm sure it's an ironic thread started with the sole purpose of winding you up
