I managed to borrow my relation on the Island's form of two wheeled transport.
A Yamaha TDM900.... nice machine too.
So I took myself off for a journt around the Isle to take photo's of nice places and nicer buildings...

The Bike and the North Atlantic....

Fat Cows on the Beach, on the North Coast.

TDM900 on the way to look at the Pap's Of Jura

A Very Nice Farmsted...

The Ferry crossing. Powerfull old boat that, we went across sideways to reach the Paps of Jura mountains as the current gets really strong ...

Good job it's only a 5 minute crossing.

Wonder where I'm off to now ?

After that I was off to Discover Some....

At the Very other End of the Island I found,

Going to try and get me one of these barrels left laying around.

So this is where it gets it's Peaty taste and smell from...

Lots more inside.

Here's one for my Dad, found his piece of Land...

But no one there to give me his Dram...

Then a little further round the bottom coast.

Then finaly on the way back up through Bowmore.

Theres more to follow, as the sites are coming, and a couple of vehicles have been damaged...

Isle of Islay? Bloody good stuff for your hands and complexion. Not too keen on the pink colour though.

Well since I've badgered my boss for a distillery trip around one of the many distillerys on the island he finally broke and said "Fooking Organize one then.."
So that's what I did yesterday....
So at 14:00hrs today I'll be sampling the delights of the Bowmore Distillery, and for good meausre at 16:00hrs I'll be in the Bruichladdich Distillery... hic.
Then later tonight is a games night in the mess... what what and all that.

will post some more photo's of this loverly place soon.
