What do you mean? If your ip address is barred you cannot read anything on the org (it is not just a restriction from logging into your account) trust me on this

My personal thoughts on the whole subject, DD/Becks/Geoffrey, potentially being a faked persona, who cares. The suggestion of a death within SF on or around a significant date troubles me.

I got about half way through the thread & couldn't be bothered wading through the irrelevant sh*te posted by some. Apologies. I was going to ask for details, but then I saw the below...

86.166.72.6 & 86.137.244.239 are currently inactive (or merely not responding - they do have an active Circuit ID though). The Windows XP SP3 machine currently connecting from 86.162.35.128 has probably never visited this forum, or the disk has been wiped throughly - there's little point in that though. Note that this IP address may of been given to another BT customer since it was used by Geoffrey/DD.

I highly doubt that the troll (as that's what this essentially was) would be using the same connection now, but when I get to work this evening I'll give all three current Circuit ID's a phone call. I doubt much will come of it though.

I may not have the necessary access, but I can try - so if someone (Fizz/TSM etc) can PM me with dates/times that associated accounts have posted from various IPs, I can see if I can pull the Circuit ID attached to those addresses at the dates/times specified.

Apologies if I have mised information posted when I got bored of reading sh*te.

Thanks for the offer, but I am satisfied that its all a hoax. I am not doing anymore IP tracing or searching through the forum. To get a list of IP's by date and post is not a 5 minute job and I dont want to sit here for hours trawlling out information to tell me something that I already know i.e. its a big wind up.

TSM might be able to get it out via the logs though. But really I would suggest that we dont waste anymore time on this particular individual.

Oh contrare!

IP's are very useful, when you have access to the system that hands them out & associates them with the physical lines attached.

If people can be served legal paperwork for downloading torrents based on their IP address, IP's can be very useful indeed.

I'm a little rusty on the inner workings of vB, but that info should be readily available via an inner-join within the DB.

Yeah but can you not just change your ip while connected to the forum and the forum would have an incorrect IP address listed for you?
