Ok , I've got a proposition for you. I've got a set of calipers in good nick last time I checked. I've not had a standard front end for ages. I'll clean/regresed them so all you have to do is bolt them up.

PM your address and I'll do my best to stick it in the post tomorrow. Let me how urgent you need it so I choose the appropraite service.

Try that out (I it looks like the problem is the forks) but if you think there may also be aproblem with the caliper then you could try that. I dunno now , but maybe the caliper bracket is bent? I think Svrash had a problem with his some time ago.

Anyways offer is there if you want to do that.

Cheers
Ben

Just a quick update - got the calipers off 21Quest today (cheers Ben ) and they slid straight on!

It was indeed the caliper bracket I'd mentioned earlier that is supposed to slide in and out (mine was solid). Thanks for the other suggestions though (and at least my spacer's set correctly now!).

So the disk was being scraped by the fork leg not being fitted properly and then once that was sorted it was found that the caliper was not sliding on the mounting bracket.

Yeah, kinda, was mainly caliper mounting seized I think (the spacer distance wasn't major so maybe would have 'got away' with it had the calipers been ok - glad to have both sorted though!).
