I couldn't afford a car that hits 100 in under 8 seconds.

Good question Lissa - I started riding as I had a couple of friends that had just got in to biking and I've always been a speed freak. I also used to commute on the SV. Alas my mates now only ride 2 or 3 times a year on track days. I do miss the 150 miles blasts on a Sunday morning and still gettiing back before lunchtime.

Brought up on bikes - used to be picked up from primary school by my dad. Had my own helmet and everything.

Wanted to be on 2 wheels by 21 but circ's dictated otherwise. Then decided if I didn't try it I would regret it for the rest of my life. target - bike license by 30 and to hell with medical advice!! Done it with a year to spare and managed to get my other half addicted too! (never can he use the excuse the other half won't let me out)

I started riding because I loved the look of bikes, always wanted to be like the lads that overtook me on the twisty roads! Then I rode as a hobby, weekends and such. And then finally gave up my car in favour of a bike. I don't drive anymore, just ride.

I found that commuting to work in my car for 2 hours a day was the most boring part of my life, so now I just ride everywhere and I love it. It makes any journey interesting and exciting!

Only down point may be in the depths of winter when it snows and I have to get the bus to work!!! But sh*t happens eh!

I was introduced to biking 3years ago although my dad's had bikes since before I was born. He organised a trip to Holland with my Cousin and Uncle and invited me along. I said yes not realising what I was doing to my passion for cars. I went out and bought a cheap 50cc 6geared bike before the trip and did my CBT. Loved it but thought there was something missing! I found it on the trip! Blisteringly fast acceleration - top speeds - power and sound! After the trip I'd not just been bitten by the bug. I'd been swallowed whole Ever since cars have failed to interest me as much and now that I have my own SV I love the world of biking - getting up early - the ritual of putting on the gear and the art of motorcycle riding!

I can't get enough!

I ride purely for pleasure but not when the weather is fine but when I want to go for a ride! If it's raining I'm still going! I tend to drive to work as it's too much of a faf to put the gear on to take 10mins to get to work to then take it off again. When there's an evening i'm free i'll ride to work knowing I can go out for a decnt ride afterwards!

Started riding when I was 10 in fields. Still riding 20 years later..
When I ride my bike I can escape myself...I know this sounds odd but all the worries and stress that we all have just gets blown away and replaced with a calm feeling of easy and relaxation or intense focus and adrenalin. When I ride hard I focus so hard on being smooth, safe and fast it takes me over and just makes me grin..

Just one of those things you can new put your finger on but you know after a ****er of a day you just need to get out on your SV!
