What a good idea, in Wales written signage has to be bilingual, which for non-residents can be confusing, but some kind of graphic could be used.

Very few other road users expect or allow for the fact that something might be coming the other way at over 100mph. That, and the resulting risk has nothing to do with rider ability.

Perhaps more Kudos should be given to riders who can pull off an emergency stop with an evasive turn from high speed, rather than to those who can get their knee down. If plod offered a course to cover that I think I'd give it a shot.

Your putting words in my mouth. I never said that a rider doing a 3 figure speed is a liability (although I'm sure some are). I said 3 figure speeds are too fast for an NSL rural road and that those riders need to be stopped by the police and prosecuted. IMO a telling off is not enough if going at that speed.

what about some signs up like they have in the dales on some of the roads where the speed limit commonly gets kicked in the head "x killed in the last x years"
And if that doesn't work then just find a cheaper way to sweep the roads after crashes, anything so long as they don't start using hidden speed cameras.

Why would you want to see someone banned for any other reason than them being a liability?

You either consider those that do over 100 are a liability and need banning, whereby you are passing judgement on their riding - or you concede that doing over 100 doesn't automatically make someone a liability and shouldn't necessarily result in a ban.

Those signs are of limited use ... certainly a bit of a stark reminder, but I drive over Snake Pass regularly and I don't pay as much attention to them as I used to, but then I remember their message (sorta) .... "22 casualties in last 5 years" or something like that. There's also a website that you can go to in order to view the locations of all of those RTA's (altho the URL eludes me right now).

It's good that organisations are putting these signs up, but there are so many other things that can cause us to crash that could also be highlighted. "Loose gravel", "Mud on Road", etc. I know we have signs like this already, but I don't think they are used often or adequately enough.
