Ben - there's nothing self-righteous about it. It's a matter of integrity.

Yes - I think I would take the rap for my kids, possibly my partner, but under no circumstances would I ever expect my kids or for that matter one of my '?friends?' kids to take the blame for something as petty as a speeding fine......

Personally I applaud the Lady Lawyers ingenuity. Well done.

(but of course you knew I might come out with something a little out of the ordinary,no?)

...But you'd be quite happy to lay the rap for, say, murder, on them?

Bad observation skills are what had me off my bike "sorry I just didn't see you".

Not much f*&K*&g consolation when sitting in the back of an ambulance with broken bones I can tell you, she too was in a hurry to get somewhere and didn't look before she changed lanes.

It's all been said. Your "not such a friend" lacks moral judgement. I hope you've put the anchors on your daughter taking the points.

I just can't understand getting caught that many times. I've thought I'd been caught by a camera van and I've been flashed by a gatso 'cos I wasn't paying attention in the last two months. I've never recieved the NIP's so seem to have got away with both and still I'm getting paranoid that the cameras are out to get me and driving a lot slower. I've had 9 points once for about 2 1/2 years and I point blank refused to break a speed limit, nobody in my family would let me drive long journeys 'cos they took too long.

How many camera's did she have to set off or how fast was she going to get all those NIP's? Most of them only have a radar and a flash unit in the box with no camera. Getting caught by average speed cameras is just plain stupid and I think the camera vans must give you more leeway, or the guy inside is skiving, 'cos I've slammed on the anchors for loads and only ever got caught by one. I do +40K miles a year.

Let her get banned, sounds like she needs it. She is exactly the reason why the points system exists.

Re the point that was raised about on of us being squeaky clean:

I have in the past got caught for speeding twice, and once for crossing a solid white line. That's a combined total of 12 points, but not all of those have been on my licence at the same time. Now, I only have 6 (white line).

I have never, nor will ever ask any other person to take points for me. If I get caught out being naughty, then I take the slap on the wrist for it.

My opinion still stands, shop the solicitor, and talk to your daughter. Perhaps the scare to your daughter will stop her doing something similar again.
