I don't understand it. A phone is a phone. You talk in them and your voice comes out on another one somewhere else in the world. Why the fuss.
Beyond that it does nothing else worth talking about. Now if somebody would do a portable device I could point at a wall/piece of paper to give me a high resolution screen, a full size virtual keyboard, a couple of hundred gigabyte of storage, Gb wireless network, multiple processors, optimized for video processing, hardware encryption processing etc. I.E a portable device for the real world then maybe I could persuade my bosses to buy me one. Until then I guess I will carry on using a phone and laptop

The touch diamond looks like a lovely phone.
BUT..... It still uses Windows Mobile, so I wouldn't touch it with somebody else's barge pole. I am never again buying a phone with Windows Mobile - it sucks giant donkey balls. Why make a lovely phone and then put that steaming pile of poo software on it? No thanks. |

apple...no. sorry but the i phone does not compare to other phones on the market.
if your interested in the i phone, then samsung do a much better phone. all touch, 5mp camera. with a flash! video, etc. everything the i phbone comes with. one of my freinds has one and its really really good. would recomend that over the i phone definatly. apple are huge in design. they design really nice products, but in terms of technology they loose points. (except for their top of the range systems.) take the air for example. really neat design, really thin etc, but to install anything or play a cd, you need to buy a seperate cd drive air thingy. not worth it in my eyes. but for fahion conscious people they love it. i done a whole research paper for my degree on apple and their products, and how they compare to other products on the market. really well made and deisgned with fashion in mind, and a huge brand awwarenes, which unfortunatly puts them up high in the products people would by. shame really |

Well I have a 16gb first gen iPhone, that I got 3 months ago for ?329. To say I was a bit sick when they announced the new one for ?159 would be an understatement, and I was poised to upgrade, but I decided to wait for the rush to go down. I have loaded 2.0 on the phone over the weekend and it is great. Im sure its a little slower what with all the added features but its running fine now. The App store is marvelous, many a handy application that can be downloaded on the fly. I'm off on honeymoon to Milan in three weeks and downloaded a italian language app that pronounces useful phrases for you. Very handy and free! Also there is the Remote application that lets you control your entire iTunes library with your phone, over a WiFi network. This works very well and is very useful.
The iPhone is not without its limitations, but the main thing about it is that it works. It just does. I am an unfortunate Windows user and as soon as funds allow I shall be upgrading to a Mac. I think they are worth it purely for the amount of time you save from messing around with errors and other problems with Windows based hardware. Vistas bloody security is a joke, I log in as an administrator, go to delete a file, get warned and asked if I'm sure that I want to delete it, get told to confirm I'm an administrator, and then get told, sorry cannot delete as you need to be an administrator! Grrrr! 99% of these problems disappear with Apple. I can understand people saying that they don't see the big deal with "just a phone" but I after just a day or two of using it, could not even imagine going back to any other device. With regards to the 3G, I think it is a superb offer for new customers, but I think I'm going to wait until the next version which will probably have a bigger difference than what the new one offers over the original, and besides, I love and prefer the look of the original. ![]() |
