Any more pics or details of this around? Did you take the the rear fairing panel off?

What do you mean by the top of the tray?

This is how I fitted my shock and modified battery box.

I hated the look of the unused toolbox under the battery so chopped that off at the same time.

basically
i first had to take the rear fairing off
remove battery and it will revile 2 bolts undo them, further back are 2 bolts each side connected to the rear sub frame undo them and the tray should be free to move

once you have moved it back a little you will have to re drill 2 holes on the battery box ( you cant see them as they are covered)

at the end of the tray where it hits the lights you will have to cut a little for it to fit correctly, take your time

then you will need to fabricate 2 brackets about 2 inchs long and drill 2 holes on each bracket this will allow you to connect the 2 rear holes at the back (again this is covered so you wont noticed the difference) and reconnect every thing back

it may seem alot of work but after reading through different ways this looked like the cleanest and easiest way
